- Reports have come in about a multi-scan LCD monitor for sale at outlets
such as CostCo. Able to sync down to the 15.75 kHz used by (among
other things) the video output on the IIGS, the monitor also has a
composite input, possibly making it usable for the Apple //e and //c. Made
by Sampo America, the monitor retails for approximately $800.00

- Jeff Fink has updated his very popular role-playing game to ver. 8.0.
Besides some bug fixes, this new version features the ability to undelete
characters, as well as user ability to to move characters between Silvern
Castle rosters. System usage as been streamlined too: the program now
has its own .SYSTEM file eliminating the need to have BASIC.SYSTEM on the
disk, and a new online Tome reference viewer, eliminating the need to have
DOGPAW on the disk. The program can be downloaded from:
ftp://ftp.a2central.com/pub/prodos/games/scupdv80.bxy

- Mark Percival has received the shipment of No-Slot Clock chips from
overseas and will soon begin shipping out the orders. The No-Slot Clock,
which gives Apple //e and //c users the ability to "piggy-back" the unit
on to the motherboard in order to get a ProDOS compatible clock, has been
virtually unavailable until Mark's recent group order. While most of the
chips have been spoken for, you might want to contact Mark at:
mark@syndicomm.com to see if any are still unspoken for.

- "Sir" Ewen Wannop announced the release of Spectrum Automated Mailer
version 1.8. This new version adds support for SMTP authentication and
enables the user to use remote SMTP servers instead of servers local to
the individual's ISP. People using versions 1.6 or prior, or who need the
new features, are urged to upgrade. It can be ordered directly from the
Syndicomm online store at:
http://store.syndicomm.com/product_info.php?products_id=183

- Rich Dreher has reported he has sold and is ready to ship the 200th CFFA
card, and that he still has boards available for sale. More information
on the CFFA can be found at: http://spudboy.dreher.net/CFforAppleII

- Two Apple II emulators had upgrade announcements made this month:

-- Appalm, the Palm OS emulator has been upgraded to version 0.75.
This version is being considered "feature complete" by it's developers,
meaning that only bug fixes will be released up until the final official
version 1.0 release. It can be downloaded at:
http://palmapple.sourceforge.net/

-- Virtual][. the Apple II+/IIe emulator for Mac OSX has been upgraded to
allow C/PM support through an emulated Z-80 card. The emulator can be
downloaded at: http://www.xs4all.nl/%7egp/VirtualII/

- Steve Wozniak has given Computer Technician Vince Briel permission to
clone the original Apple I ROM for the clone Vince is developing. The
clone will sell as a plain, bare-bones motherboard (as was the original
Apple I computer) for around $200.00. Ordering information as well as
additional information about the computer can be found at:
